Gluten Free in NYC: Wild

farm to table pizza that will drive you wild.

In the heart of the city, we found the cure to all gluten free pizza cravings – WILD.

The idea of Wild came about when founder, Miki Agrawal, struggled with stomach aches. She finally realized that these aches were being caused by an intolerance to the additives, hormones, and pesticides put into American foods. This news pushed Agrawal to face a lot of changes in her diet. One of the hardest – no more pizza. Let me tell you, this is a struggle that practically all gluten free eaters can relate to!

It was in 2006 that Agrawal opened Wild in New York City – giving others on a restrictive diet the chance to indulge in one of America’s favorites. All of the pizza at Wild is made completely gluten free. That alone makes me their biggest fan. But wait, there’s more. The tomato sauce is organic, and the cheeses and meats are hormone free. Pizza that leaves my body as happy as my taste buds? Yes, please.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a lovely dinner at Wild and couldn’t resist sharing with you guys. It is always my favorite when I have absolutely no worry about getting cross contaminated, which is the case at Wild. They have no gluten in their kitchen and encourage customers to “feast with confidence”. That I did…

We were served the Avocado Toast as a starter. I had never even heard of toast with avocado, honey, gorgonzola, and walnuts, but it was absolutely delicious. For our main course, we had both the Meditteranean Pizza and the BBQ Chicken Delight. Picking a favorite between the two of these would be impossible for me. With our plates completely clean, we closed out the meal with dessert (like always). We picked two items off of a heavenly plate of gf desserts. It was a tough decision, but we went with a warm brownie as well as a chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick! Our gluten free meal at Wild was delightful from beginning to end.
